LANCASTER MUSEUM OF ART AND HISTORY

Location: 665 W Lancaster Blvd.

                  Lancaster, CA 93534

Size:  approximately 20,297 sq. ft.

Project Type: Public Services

Completion Date: 2012

Description:

The project is the new home of the Lancaster Museum of Art and History. It is a repository for historical artifacts coming from the Antelope Valley and a place where audiences experience exhibitions of fine art and participate in art and history-based programs.

The 3-story building is a combination of new and existing structures and includes spaces for exhibitions, a museum store, an auditorium, a library, research and conservation areas, and food services. Key to our design was quality environmental control consisting of cooling, heating, and humidity control to maintain conditions for the preservation of the exhibition pieces.

Additionally, the project exceeded the stringent requirements of the 2008 California Building Efficiency Standards efficient air conditioning system and high efficacy lighting.
