Air Freight Terminal Complex - Air Mobility Squadron Bldg.

Location: Anderson Air Force Base, Guam

Project Type: Government Contract

The project consisted of one new air freight terminal complex and the renovation of an existing building to become the Air Mobility Squadron Command Center classified as Mission Critical.

The new Air Freight Terminal Complex includes space for storage, packing and crating of shipments, documents, ramps, handling equipment, maintenance, offices, and administration. Support facilities include site improvements, utility connections, parking and fencing, fire protection system addition, and alteration of Building 19020 to accommodate displaced HQ and AMU functions. The Air Mobility Squadron’s Computer Center was relocated to within Building 19020.

Located adjacent to the primary cargo parking area, the new facility includes AT/FP physical security measures. The project is compliant with DOD, AT/FP, ADA, 170 mph Typhoon Resistant, Anti-earthquake, UFCs, and Community Standards while also attaining a USGBC LEED certified-silver rating.

Mass notification and fire alarm systems are provided within the facility and exterior surroundings for alert and broadcasting of life safety messages. Emergency power to the facility is provided with a diesel engine generator. Upon power failure, an automatic transfer switch activates a generator and supplies power to the facility. Life Safety and other essential equipment are connected to the emergency back up power system. Refrigeration equipment and motorized doors are also connected to back up power.
